Why we built it
National days are more than calendar notes—they are stories of independence, unity, and cultural resilience. We wanted a space that honours every country's milestone with respectful storytelling, verified facts, and vibrant imagery.
About us
WhosDay.today is a living atlas of national celebrations, curated so you can instantly discover whose flag is flying high today and why that moment matters.
National days are more than calendar notes—they are stories of independence, unity, and cultural resilience. We wanted a space that honours every country's milestone with respectful storytelling, verified facts, and vibrant imagery.
Our researchers maintain a 195-country dossier updated each season. Each entry is sourced from government archives, historical institutes, and local correspondents to surface accurate founding dates, government structures, and traditions.
We combine lightweight front-end engineering with a centralized national day knowledge graph. Daily updates flow into our JSON registry, powering live gradients, countdowns, salute ledgers, and media-rich galleries across every device.
Prototype launched with the first 40 countries represented.
Introduced celebration galleries and color-accurate flag gradients.
Deployed the unified salute counter with IP-aware participation limits.
Expanded to cover every UN-recognized nation with fact spotlights.
Our collective includes historians, linguists, and engineers based in Riyadh, Singapore, London, and Toronto. Together we ensure every update feels authentic to the nation it honours.
